Cor Land Consulting: Outstanding Experience

Paul A. Correa, Owner

Cor Land Consulting is led by Paul Correa who has worked in the land development and policy field for over ten years.

Over the past decade Paul's passion and interest in land planning and development led Paul to work for a market rate home builder, SummerHill Homes, based in Palo Alto.  At SummerHill Homes, Paul spent four years responsible for land acquisitions and forward planning where he successfully identified and negotiated the acquisition of over 300 residential units.

Prior to his work at SummerHill Homes, Paul also worked for the City of San Jose’s Planning & Housing Departments, Silicon Valley Advisors, LLC, a private land entitlement and land planning company, where he was registered lobbyist in the City of San Jose.  During this tenure at the San Jose Planning & Housing Departments, Paul gained a greater understanding of city planning process from the public sector side which later proved useful to his success in his private sector land development work.

More recently, Mr. Correa assisted the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for over 3-years with facility, entitlement, planning, and government relations issues for the University President.  In his tenure at the Academy of Art University, Paul began and managed a environmental review process (EIR) valued over $1 million, successfully resolved many building and planning code violations filed against the University, and completed a draft Insitutitional Master Plan as required by San Francisco Planning Code for large academic institutions.  Paul was successful in assisting the Academy in re-building trust and productive relationships with the San Francisco Planning and Building Departments and numerous city officials needed to successfully address the many compliance issues facing the largest building owner in the City with over 35 buildings.

Paul is a former member of the Gilroy City Council and Planning Commission where he helped develop policy to revitalize the city’s downtown and advocated for affordable housing and smart growth policies.  Prior to work in the land development field, Paul was a former political appointee for then California Governor Gray Davis working as a education policy analyst in the Office of the Governor.

Background:

Paul has a B.S. in Political Science from Santa Clara University, an M.Ed. from Harvard University, and a Master’s in City & Regional Planning from the University of California, at Berkeley.
